For those of us who were kids back in the 50's and 60's, the
fear of a nuclear attack was instilled into us by weekly air raid
drills held in our school classrooms. We were also instructed to
designate a corner area in our house basements as a fallout shelter and
to stock a 2 week supply of food and water. During a recent
inspection I came across one of those "designated" fallout
shelter locations in the corner of an old basement. The really
interesting find, however, wasn't just the "shelter", but the
2 week stock of supplies!
