This photo was taken from the basement of a 90 year home in a Boston, MA suburb. That unusual looking "mess" in the photo is someone's idea of repairing a rotted floor. It was a mixture of plaster and aluminum foil. Fortunately, the area was underneath the kitchen sink and counter so no one could actually walk on the "repair," otherwise it's a sure bet they would fall through.
